To all parents: it is the responsibility of parents to notify the coach in good time if their child is unable to compete at a gala that they have been entered for. Please tell the coach who will be in attendance at the gala and ask the coach to withdraw them.

Outstanding Gala Fees - Due to the amount of outstanding gala fees owing the committee has found it necessary to introduce a 'No Pay, No Swim' system. A three month payment system is now in place & parents are requested to pay all outstanding gala fees in full within three months of the first gala fees that are overdue. If parents fail to pay the fees swimmers will be refused entry into galas until the outstanding balance has been paid in full.
The club must pay entry fees in advance of each gala so it is essential that any outstanding payments are made promptly. Please make cheques payable to Chester Le Street ASC & hand them to Andrea Maddison ASAP. We regret that the club is unable to refund any gala entry fee if your child withdraws from an event or a meet.
Collection of Monthly Subscriptions and Gala Entry Fees: Andrea, Jane & Steve will be in the foyer between 7pm & 8.30pm every 1st Friday of each month for the collection of monthly subscriptions and gala entry fees. If you would like to pay by standing order please ask Jane, Steve or Andrea for details ( All parents are requested to pay by standing order as from January 2008). NB If your child has moved up squads please remember to update your standing orders accordingly.
Club Lane - Don't want to compete but still want to swim for fun & fitness? Why not come along to our club lane on the following evenings/times.
Tuesday nights 19.30 -21.00hrs
Friday nights 20.30 - 21.15 hrs
Cost = £15-00 per month
The club lane will initially be for members 11 years of age & over.
If anyone would like more details they can contact Gill Brown @ the club on Tuesday & Friday evenings.
Attention - Parents of all swimmers - Parents are NOT allowed on poolside at any time during training sessions and should not engage the coach in conversation from the balcony whilst teaching. This is for the welfare and the safety of all swimmers in the pool whilst under the supervision of a coach. If you have an issue and you need to speak with your child's coach in person, you are requested to wait until AFTER the session and until ALL swimmers have left poolside. Alternatively, arrange a suitable time to discuss the matter outside of training times by emailing the head coach at swim@chester-le-street-asc.org or via the club web site.
At times the access between the large and small pool becomes very congested. It is requested that you move through this area quickly & quietly and do not venture onto poolside.
All of our staff on poolside, and the Management Committee Members, has been CRB checked according to The A.S.A. Child Protection Policy. Again this is for the welfare and safety of your child. By venturing poolside you are in breach of Club Code of Conduct.
All parents of children under the age of 11 MUST remain within the building at all times while your child is at the pool. This is for the welfare and safety of your child. The Management Committee.
The last Friday of each month will announce Swimmer of The Month. A swimmer will be chosen from A & B squads jointly, and a swimmer will be chosen from SD1-4 (Inclusive of Dolphins). Swimmer of the month will be selected from a range of criteria, including attendance, performance, dedication and improvement. All swimmers receiving this award will be selected by the head coach and a prize will be offered to each swimmer selected. The last Friday of each month is Time Trial night. Time trials will be open to SD1- 4 (Including Dolphins), B1, B2 & B3 club swimmers. Time trials will record the times of 50m strokes (25m where appropriate) and if time allows some 100m swims. Please note that on certain occasions the time trials will not take place if Chester-Le-Street swimming club is holding or attending galas that weekend. In this event trials will be postponed to a later date and details will be posted on both the web site and club notice board.

CLUB PHOTOS
There are still a few parents who need to provide permission if they would like the club to take photographs of their child for web site purposes. It is essential that ALL parents provide permission. I will need to know even if you do not wish your child to be photographed so we have a record for the future. This will enable us to know which children can be photographed at such events like the Diddy Galas.
